Daily Outrage: Fatal crash: Accused drunken driver out on bail 

WHO: Jerrell Puno

WHAT: The 22-year-old Fairfield resident is out on bail after allegedly causing a fiery fatal crash on the Bay Bridge early Sunday while driving drunk.

WHY IT HAPPENED: Puno paid $102,500 in bail. Officers described him as “very cooperative”and even apologetic after the crash.

WHY IT’S A BAD IDEA: Witnesses say Puno was driving more than 100 mph on the lower deck of the bridge when he rear-ended a car, killing a passenger and injuring three others.

WHERE TO VENT: The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office is prosecuting Puno, who was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.
