DA says they’ll attend future CompStat meetings

A spokeswoman for District Attorney Kamala Harris responded Wednesday to the fact that a representative from the office has been conspicuously absent from the Police Department’s CompStat process for months.

The office has been dealing with a number of retirements and other staffing issues lately, said spokeswoman Erica Derryck, who noted that Harris herself has attended CompStat meetings in the past.

“We realize the importance and significance of those meetings,” Derryck said. “We’ve had a presence in the past and we’ll have a presence again in the future.”
