DA Harris continues to cash in on Hollywood

Take a look at the San Francisco District Attorney’s latest contributions to her campaign for state attorney general and you’re likely to call her Kamala “Hollywood” Harris.

Actress Reese Witherspoon is a fan of Harris. She gave $1,500. J.J. Abrams, the executive producer of "Lost" and other successful shows, contributed $6,500. Walt Disney Co. CEO Robert Iger pitched in $5,000.

Other Hollywood heavyweights made contributions, such as Jason Blum, Michael Shamberg and Damon Lindelof.

But don’t think Bay Area power brokers have turned their back on the district attorney. She recently received contributions from Peter Magowan and Angela Cohan. And, of course, she has maximum backing from Ann and Gordon Getty.

In 2010 alone, attorney general candidates have been in a race for money, with Democratic challenger Chris Kelly in the lead with more than $2 million of his own Facebook fortune.

Harris brought in $413,974 this year and former Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo reported raising $124,591 this year.

Republican Steve Cooley, district attorney of Los Angeles County, has raised the most this year out of Republican challengers: $436,520.
