Critical Mass, immigration rally could wreak traffic havoc

Plan for a rush-hour nightmare tonight along The City’s waterfront, as roadways may get clogged by Critical Mass cyclists and the planned immigration rally outside AT&T Park, where the Giants are hosting the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The two events will occur around the same time commuters head for the freeways to get an early start on the long Memorial Day weekend.

As usual with Critical Mass, riders plan to assemble at Justin Herman Plaza at 6 p.m. Their route is expected to circle The Embarcadero before heading to Ocean Beach.

Down the street at AT&T Park, a protest is planned about Arizona’s immigration policy. Game time is 7:15 p.m.
