Crime roundup: Maid to blame for intruder? and other criminal madness 

Blame it on the maid, on whoever left the living room window open and on a rather impatient knife-wielding thug in these recent examples of criminal madness:

Scott Street near Duboce Avenue
3 p.m. Wednesday

The maids left the front door unlocked while cleaning a home. A short time after, the maids encountered a 41-year-old woman hiding behind a bed upstairs. The suspect fled, and nothing was taken.

Vermont Street near 18th Street
11:30 p.m. Wednesday

A 30-year-old woman saw a man climb through her living room window, grab a laptop and then hop back out the living room window. He has not been caught.

Grove Street near Eighth Street
12:35 a.m. Thursday

A 51-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach after telling the attacker, a 40-year-old man, to leave and that he didn’t want to talk to him. The injury was not life threatening.

Mission Street near 16th Street
2:45 a.m. Thursday

A 35-year-old man stabbed a 30-year-old woman in the right collarbone with an unknown sharp object following an argument. The injury was not life threatening.
