Crime Map: Scooter-stealing scoundrels

Two men were knocked off their scooter by a couple of thugs who stole their cash and fled on their wheels.

300 block of Columbus Avenue 7 p.m. Monday

The bomb squad was called out to the scene of a suspicious item, police said. The scene was secured.

Mendell Street and McKinnon Avenue 11:05 p.m. Monday

Two men were robbed and scooter-jacked, police said. The victims, ages 25 and 21, pulled up to a stop sign and were knocked off the scooter by two men in their 20s. The men stole the victims’ cellphones and wallets and fled on the scooter.

Unit block of Dakota Street 3:20 a.m. Tuesday

A 32-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint, police said. The victim was approached by two men in their 20s brandishing a gun. They demanded his cash and cellphones and fled.

Ingalls Street and Fitzgerald Avenue 8:25 p.m. Saturday

A 23-year-old man was robbed of his cash and a guitar, police said. The victim believed the crook was armed, so he turned over his goods.
