Crime Map: It’s just against the rules

A man crashed his bullet-ridden car and fled, and an unknown suspect messed with another man’s automobile.

Valencia and Cesar Chavez streets 9 p.m. Monday

A man’s car was vandalized, police said. The victim was unable to provide any more information to police.

4900 block of Mission Street 1:56 p.m. Monday

A chronic shoplifter was arrested, police said. The suspect was detained by security until cops arrived. A records check showed the man had prior shoplifting convictions, making it a felony arrest.

900 block of Ellsworth Street 4:41 p.m. Monday

Police investigated a report of shots fired. When they got to the scene they noticed a black vehicle with significant damage and two bullet holes in the rear window. The door was open and the engine was still running. Witnesses said the black car crashed into another car and the driver got out and fled on foot.

Sunnydale and Persia avenues 3:09 p.m. Sunday

Police arrested a reckless driver who was going 80 mph in a 25 mph zone. The suspect was arrested after a brief chase.
