Unit block of Locust Street 10:39 a.m. Tuesday

A 52-year-old woman was startled by a would-be burglar, police said. She was in her bedroom when the creep walked in. He was apparently surprised to see someone home, so he fled. The woman locked her door and called 911.

5500 block of Diamond Heights Boulevard 4:33 p.m. Monday

Four out of five cargo vans’ tires were slashed, police said. When cops arrived, the owner of the vans told police he believes his neighbors are upset that he parks all his vans there.

Ellis and Webster streets 5 p.m. Tuesday

A 42-year-old man told police that four “guys jumped him,” police said. He suffered only minor injuries and was otherwise uncooperative with police.

1200 block of San Jose Avenue 8:09 p.m. Monday

A suspected drunken driver got his car stuck on the Muni tracks, police said. The vehicle was empty when police arrived and saw that it had sustained axle damage. A man who smelled strongly of alcohol approached the officers and told them the car was his. He failed field sobriety tests and was arrested.
