Crews working to restore electricity to hundreds in Bay Area

PG&E customers throughout the Bay Area still are without power Saturday morning, a company spokesman said.

Most of the outages are in Santa Cruz County, where crews were working to restore service to about 350 customers about 9:40 a.m., according to PG&E spokesman J.D. Guidi.

An additional 106 customers in the South Bay, 64 on the Peninsula and 153 in the East Bay are continuing to experience a disruption in service, he said.

Tens of thousands of customers lost power this week due to a series of storms that moved through the Bay Area, and PG&E officials warned that downed power lines were still being reported in some areas.

Anyone who sees a downed power line should treat it as though it is live, stay away from it and call 911, PG&E spokeswoman Katie Romans said.

Downed lines should be reported to PG&E at (800) 743-5002.
