A store manager in North Beach was hospitalized Saturday night after a fight with a customer, police said.

The customer was harassing store patrons and employees when the manager asked him to leave. The customer went outside and began yelling at people entering and exiting the store. Minutes later, he charged back into the store and threw coffee at the manager, police said.

He then pulled out a knife and slashed the manager’s thumb and back before fleeing.

The manager was treated at St. Francis Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.
