Crash victims still hospitalized

A Sausalito woman and her 14-year-old female passenger remained hospitalized Thursday with major injuries following a three-vehicle crash on Golden Gate Bridge.

Grace M. Dammann, 61, sustained fractures to both of her legs and arms in the collision Wednesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The female youth, whose identity has not been released because she is a minor, traveling with Dammann sustained a broken wrist and possible head injuries, the CHP said.

Also hurt in the crash was Brian Benjamin Clark, 48, of San Francisco. Clark was traveling southbound at 3:15 p.m. when his 2006 Volkswagen Passat drifted from the far-left lane and crossed into northbound traffic, according to the CHP.

Clark’s vehicle sideswiped another Passat, driven by Brian John Gerritsen, 38, of Sausalito, before colliding with the northbound Honda CRV driven by Dammann.

Clark was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries, and Gerritsen escaped unscathed.

CHP officials are investigating what caused Clark's vehicle to drift into oncoming traffic, although drugs and alcohol have been ruled out as a factor.
