Crash blocking two lanes of Bay Bridge

A multivehicle crash that occurred around 1:30 p.m. is blocking two westbound lanes of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Preliminary reports indicate that six vehicles were involved in the accident, which happened on the upper deck of the bridge near Treasure Island, CHP Officer Marc Johnston said.

The No. 4 and 5 westbound lanes are blocked and a Sig-alert was issued at 1:43 p.m.

At least one person was injured in the collision, but the extent of the injuries was not immediately available.

The CHP did not have an estimate on when the crash would be cleared. Bay City News
