Woman traveling from India collapses, dies at customs

A woman traveling to the United States from India collapsed and died at San Francisco International Airport on Tuesday, according to the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office. Baxi Pratibha, a 56-year-old resident of India, collapsed while entering the customs area of the international terminal, according to San Francisco Police Department airport bureau Officer Dianne McKevitt.

Medical personnel arrived but were not able to revive Pratibha, who the coroner’s office says apparently died of natural causes. McKevitt said the airport sees deaths like this roughly twice a year.
