County makes magazine cover

San Francisco’s county services may be bedraggled and budget-cut, but at least they have some claim to fame: they’re this month’s cover story in California County magazine.

Caveat: the three articles in magazine, which is actually a trade journal for the California State Association of Counties, are written by San Francisco employees, so while interesting, they may not hold up to the old standard of journalistic excellence, objectivity.

One article describes how San Francisco prioritizes public work projects, another profiles Public Works director Ed Reiskin and a third explains how The City has managed to preserve its historic libraries while renovating them into some of the best and most modern libraries in the state.
