Could mom reclaim Angelina’s new son?

Could Angelina Jolie’s new adopted son, Pax Thien Jolie, be taken away by the biological mother who abandoned him at birth? A report in the U.K.’s News of the World claims that because the boy born Pham Quang Sang’s adoption papers were signed by his grandparents, his biological mother — a volatile drug addict — has grounds to challenge them.

Pax’s biological grandfather told the British tabloid, "Our daughter is a heroin addict and she is a bag of trouble. Her life has been ruled by drugs since she was 16. … When she finds out that a rich movie star has adopted her baby, she will go after Angelina Jolie for money and make trouble for her. She may even try to take the child back."

But his fears may be unfounded. The director of the orphanage where the tot was adopted insisted to the Vietnamese press that since his mother gave up her baby and did not respond to a newspaper ad by the orphanage, she has no legal claim on him: "As for [her] demanding Sang back, it is absolutely impossible."

Fire starter

Velvet Revolver rocker Scott Weiland’s wife, Mary, was arrested on charges of felony arson vandalism for torching her hubby’s clothes — $10,000 worth, he told police.

Police reportedly received calls alerting them that a woman was burning clothes, and arrived at the couple’s Toluca Lake residence to find the smoking gun: a trash can containing the charred couture.

The Saturday night flame-up followed an argument between the spouses that same day, which left two rooms at the Graciela Burbank Hotel trashed.

"Both rooms had damage and items scattered, broken plates and things. It was looking definitely like items were deliberately destroyed," a police officer said of the hotel incident, adding, "She is a suspect in the vandalism. He is not."

Because the damages were more than $400, the hotel could reportedly file felony vandalism charges.

Uh, Mr. and Mrs. Weiland? We can’t suggest counseling strongly enough.

Celebrating Elton

Sir Elton John is anything but low-key — so it’s fitting that his 60th birthday party was literally a stadium-sized celebration. Sunday, Elton performed a concert at Madison Square Garden — his 60th there — to mark the six-decade milestone. The party practically qualified as an affair of state, with former President Bill Clinton on hand to welcome Elton into the "60-year-old club."

The diverse array of big names attending the bash included Rosie O’Donnell, Kid Rock, Elizabeth Hurley, Kiefer Sutherland, Richard Gere, Sharon Stone and Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. Wishing the honoree happy birthday onstage were Whoopi Goldberg and Robin Williams, who quipped that Elton "used to make Liberace look Amish."

The living-legend pianist kicked off the show with "60 Years On" and played an array of hits from his three-decade career.

And the birthday boy told the crowd he was delighted with his choice of venue: "I knew I had 59 shows here and … the only place I wanted to be was in New York City at Madison Square Garden."

Bruce’s B-Day Buss

Notorious Hollywood ladies’ man Bruce Willis reportedly shared a romantic moment with a rather odd choice of babe: bad-girl rocker Courtney Love. According to the New York Daily News, the actor and the Hole singer were sighted in PDA mode March 19 (Bruce’s 52nd birthday) at a rock show at L.A.’s Roxy.

A fellow clubgoer snitched to the paper, "They were full-on making out." However, another noted that the two hung out separately for the remainder of the night.

Courtney’s flack described the encounter to the paper as "a quick hi, and then they went their separate ways," while Bruce’s rep was mum.

Bizarre though this pairing might seem, we thoroughly approve of the idea of Bruce hooking up with someone close to his own age range!

Britney and Justin Set to Duet?

The U.K.’s Sunday Mirror reports that producer Timbaland has made good on his declared desire to bring Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake back together — in the recording studio. The duo will allegedly remake the classic duet "You’re All I Need to Get By" this week. As unreliable as British tabloids are, we’d looove for this to be true!
