Cool weather forecast in The City

After last week’s heat wave that wasn’t, San Francisco residents hoping for a few more warm days may be disappointed with this week’s forecast.

The National Weather Service is forecasting cool, seasonal weather in the low to mid-60s.

“It should be cooling off here in the next few days,” the National Weather Service’s Diana Henderson said. “We’re heading into fall now.”

Henderson said forecasts as of Sunday showed a high of 66 today, 62 on Tuesday and 68 on Wednesday.

The cooling trend, if it holds, could have an effect on the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, which takes place Friday to Sunday in Golden Gate Park. Temperatures may peak around 70 late this week, but are expected to cool again by the weekend, Henderson said.
