Muni will continue its infrastructure improvement project on the J-Church light-rail line next weekend.

Starting at 7 a.m. Oct. 21 and lasting until 5 a.m. Oct. 24, construction crews will install a temporary rail crossover and a platform for passengers with disabilities on Church Street between Market and 15th streets.

As a result, Church Street will be shut down to traffic between Market and 15th streets, and a bus shuttle will replace the J-Church line between 18th Street and Market streets. Also, outbound 22-Fillmore buses will be rerouted around the construction site.

The work is part of Muni’s two-year long Church and Duboce Track and Street Improvement Project. The project includes sidewalk extensions, street repaving efforts, the installation of new transit shelters and bike lanes, and the replacement of the area’s underground infrastructure.
