Conservative group asks court to force release of more info on Obamacare waivers

Conservative group Crossroads GPS has filed a motion for summary judgement in federal court in an attempt to force the Obama administration's Department of Health and Human Services to release more information on its decisions to grant or reject requests for waivers from the national health care law.

While the administration has disclosed the various labor unions, businesses and local governments that have been granted 1,372 waivers, it has not acceded to Freedom of Information Act requests seeking documents on the decision making process surrounding the waivers.

"With every passing day, this looks less like bureaucratic incompetence and more like willful stonewalling," Steven Law, president of Crossroads GPS, said in a statement.  "It's time for judicial action to clean up the culture of disdain for FOIA that seems to permeate the Obama Administration."
