Computer-network debacle costs S.F. $1 million 

The City is finding out just how much it relied on one IT employee as it struggles to repair its central computer network at a cost of nearly $1 million so far. While former network administrator Terry Childs, 43, has reportedly turned over the codes to Mayor Gavin Newsom, the District Attorney’s Office also wants him to reimburse The City for the cost of the repairs.
