Community to receive update on development proposal at Geneva and Phelan

A proposal to transform a vacant lot near the City College of San Francisco’s main campus into a mixed-used development featuring 60 affordable-housing units will be discussed this weekend.

The development, a collaborative effort featuring multiple city agencies, will be located on the corners of Geneva and Phelan avenues. In discussion since the early '90s, the project would ultimately need approval from the Board of Supervisors. If it is authorized, construction should begin in the fall of next year.

On Saturday, city officials will meet with the community to give an update on how the project is progressing. The meeting is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. at the Ocean Avenue Senior Center at 1948 Ocean Avenue.
