Classic blues from Michael ‘Iron Man’ Burks

Alligator Records artist Michael "Iron Man" Burks is bringing his classic blues sound to San Francisco. Already a favorite in blues circles in the States, the

Arkansas-based guitarist-vocalist is on the verge of becoming internationally renowned. His nickname comes from his long, intensely physical performances, his fearsome guitar attack and smoky vocals — not to mention the multitudes of miles he’s logged behind the wheel of his touring van.

Playing at Biscuits and Blues next week, his set list is likely to include some tunes off his new album, "Iron Man." With titles such as "Love Disease," "Empty Promises," "Salty Tears," "Don’t Waste My Time," and "Icepick Through My Heart," you know he’s the real thing.

The show is at 8 p.m. Tuesday; the club is located at 410 Mason St. Tickets are $20. Call (415) 292-2583 or visit www.biscuitsandblues.com.
