City wrestlers set for state meet 

Several local wrestlers will be vying for state championships this weekend at the California Interscholastic Federation meet in Bakersfield.

Representing the San Francisco Section are Galileo’s Alessandro Szabo (138 pounds), Patricio Israel (145) and Lavelle Johnson (152); Lowell’s Chris O’Neill (106), Marco Kwan (113), Asa Jungreis (126) and Cristian Sanchez (195); O’Connell’s Daniel Paredes (220); San Francisco International’s Fai Limu (170) and Yahya Meftah (182); and Washington’s Jalille Cristobal (120), Edmund Yao (132), Leonard Cruz (160) and Raysean Jones (heavyweight).

From the Central Coast Section, Half Moon Bay is sending three athletes: Edrey Casamina (113), Emilio Bautista (120) and Marcos Sarabia (220). They are joined by Serra’s Dominick Christmas (195). Matches begin today at 9 a.m.
