City leaders thrilled with Doyle Drive project, city budget

San Francisco’s politicos were all smiles Wednesday morning during the ground breaking ceremony of the second major construction project on the $1 billion Doyle Drive rebuild.

They were thrilled to see the seismically unstable stretch of road get some attention, and also because, well, they got a city and county budget passed — finally.

“We are a little giddy because it was early this morning after a public, 13-hour board meeting that we just put to bed our budget of $6.5 billion, so we are quite delighted by that,” Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi said at the celebration ceremony for Doyle Drive.
