City College looking into parcel tax possibility

City College of San Francisco may hire a polling firm to find out whether to seek a parcel tax to support the cash-strapped school.

The Board of Trustees for the San Francisco Community College District will decide Thursday whether to authorize spending up to $33,110 for a public opinion survey to assess “the potential support and opposition to a potential parcel tax, the public’s awareness of the district’s financial needs, and the overall feasibility of developing a parcel tax that could win voter approval,” according to district documents.
