City celebrates new Aer Lingus flights 

Aer Lingus will celebrate its new non-stop flight from San Francisco to Dublin, Ireland, on Tuesday with an open party in Union Square and a private party hosted by San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom.

The public party, which starts at noon, will include music by Culann's Hounds Irish Band, dancing by the Healey Irish Dancers and a drawing for a free trip to Ireland. 

The private party starts later. It will be a reception hosted by Newsom will at City Hall from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The inaugural flight will depart Dublin Monday and will be met at San Francisco International Airport by a city delegation led by Newsom.
