Chris Daly fires back in battle over 'boycott' of his bar

In the latest development in the feud between neighbors, the bar of former Supervisor Chris Daly is offering the “Blue Collar Dollar Special,” which gets you a PBR for a buck.

The catch is it’s for unemployed construction union workers and to enjoy the deal “just show dues receipt!” That’s according to the sign outside his bar Wednesday afternoon.

Will that temptation get some labor union members to defy Larry Mazzola’s call for a boycott of Daly’s bar?

Perhaps, or perhaps it’s just enough to get under Mazzola's skin, as the former member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors has many times before.

Daly’s  drinking haunt, Buck Tavern, at 1655 Market St. is a few steps away from the plumbers’ union labor headquarters.

Mazzola, in his call to boycott, made sure the members knew the bar was enemy territory in case they had a sudden thirst when coming and going from the union headquarters.

He requested “all members of Local 38, apprentices and journeymen alive to boycott and not frequent this establishment before, during or after classes and/or after regular Union Meetings – or for that matter any other time.”
