Chiu kicks bocce ball proposal back to committee

Everyone wants a piece of bocce ball, which is partly why Supervisor David Chiu kicked the proposal for the new rec sport back to the committee. After some public testimony on the issue of installing two bocce ball courts in Justin Herman Plaza on the grassy knoll lined by palm trees, Chiu asked to move the proposal to a committee.

"There has already been significant public conversation and outreach but I do understand there is conversation for more outreach, " Chiu said. "But I do understand there is a desire for conversation and more outreach and thus I'd like to refer this item to committee."
