Charlie’s drug-filled, pre-rehab bender

Rehab is expensive — but if you’re Charlie Sheen, it’s a lot cheaper than living the wild life. TMZ has obtained what appears to be a $30,000 check made out to an adult-film star the actor partied with — prior to being rushed to the hospital, then checking himself into a treatment facility.

The “Two and a Half Men” star is said to have made the generous gesture Wednesday, during a 36-hour bender at his home. The paparazzi site also claims he had a “briefcase full of cocaine” delivered to the residence. (Charlie’s long-suffering rep told TMZ, “I can’t comment because I have no idea if it’s true. You choose to believe your source. I don’t.”)

Eventually, 911 was called to speed him to the ER with severe abdominal pains. One Sheen source explained the medical crisis by saying that the actor aggravated a hernia by laughing too hard at the TV. But a Radar Online source claims, “Charlie’s red blood cell count was low and his white blood cell count was high” when he arrived at the hospital.

Around the time news broke Friday that he had voluntarily entered rehab, Charlie texted a Radar Online editor, “I’m fine. People don’t seem to get it. ... Guy can’t have a great time and do his job also?”

Well, if that “great time” lands him in the hospital … then no.

Sunny Demi

And the revolving door of celebrity rehab continues … as Charlie checked in, Demi Lovato checked out. The smiling, healthy-looking “Sonny With a Chance” star was spotted strolling in Santa Monica on Friday.

The young actress had checked into a treatment facility in November to deal with emotional issues that culminated in her allegedly punching a dancer and being kicked off the Jonas Brothers tour.

The New York Post reports that the 18-year-old spent a month in a treatment facility followed by a month of outpatient care in Illinois.

“She didn’t come back to L.A. until her doctors told her they were absolutely satisfied with her recovery,” a source said. “She’s not in a rush to get back to work. Disney said they’ll wait until she is ready.”

Glad to hear they’re putting her needs first.

Grammy No-Show

Chris Brown’s camp insists the singer did not make a bid to have his restraining order against Rihanna lifted so he could go to the Grammy Awards.

Though the “Forever” singer has been nominated for three of the prestigious music trophies, he will not attend the ceremony. Chris famously missed the Grammys in 2009 after an argument that allegedly left then-girlfriend Rihanna bruised and bloodied.

Since the career-derailing incident, Chris has completed domestic-violence counseling and is working on his court-ordered community service obligation. A judge praised his progress at a hearing Friday, but was unable to grant his attorney’s request to allow him within 50 yards of RiRi — which would have made a Grammy appearance a lot more feasible. Since her lawyer could not be reached, the ruling was reportedly postponed.

But Chris’s rep tells TMZ the Grammys have nothing to do with the courtroom move: “This court date and the lifting of the restraining order is part of the planned ongoing legal proceedings. The date was scheduled months ago. Chris Brown is very thankful for his Grammy nominations, but due to scheduling conflicts, he will not be attending the Grammys.”

Perhaps that’s his best bet PR-wise, in any case. Showing up at the Grammys would just remind people to rehash the Rihanna incident — and stall his comeback, which is progressing nicely.
