Change in venue's permit possible

The City’s Entertainment Commission is looking into the permits for the Regency Ballroom – two weeks after a shooting outside an event there injured 12 people.

Entertainment commissioners, police, owners and the promoters of the Nov. 14 KMEL House of Soul party have already met privately to discuss the shooting, but a hearing on Tuesday could lead to some changes with the Regency’s entertainment permit.

Officials have been encouraging the owners of the Regency to install surveillance cameras outside the property. Police have yet to announce an arrest in the case.
