CCSF student Eva Eng has a golden ticket

The City College of San Francisco radiology student recently found the first genuine Wonka Golden Ticket, scoring a grand prize of up to a $40,000 trip around the world.

Did you know about the contest before buying the candy?

I didn’t. I was just craving chocolate that day and was going through the candy aisles at the Serramonte Target. I noticed the Wonka bar and remembered liking it as a child, so I bought one.

What was your reaction to seeing the ticket?

I didn't know much about the contest, so I just thought it was a cool gimmick. I knew you could win other prizes, like movie tickets or something, so I thought I might as well just send it in. I never thought I would win the actual grand prize!

How did you feel when you learned you won the grand prize?

There are so many scams out there, so I held back at first. But when I got the official documents from Wonka, I was really, really excited!

Where will you go on your trip?

Well, I could pick a minimum of four destinations and I knew I wanted to go somewhere warm since I'll be taking the trip over my December break from school. I picked Tahiti, Bora Bora, Brazil, Thailand and also Tokyo, Japan. I can’t wait! Only four more months. I’m counting down the days!
