  • Jean Kasem, right, the wife of ailing radio personality Casey Kasem, appears in Kitsap County Superior Court, with her attorney Joel Paget, left, Friday, May 30, 2014 in Port Orchard, Wash. Jean Kasem was in court as part of an ongoing dispute with her stepdaughter Kerri Kasem, who has been given authority to determine whether her father is receiving adequate medical care. Casey and Jean Kasem have been staying with family friends in Washington state.
Radio legend Casey Kasem is in stable condition at a Seattle-area hospital after reports of a bizarre meat-hurling incident involving his wife.

“He’s getting 24-hour care. Kerri is doing an excellent job making sure he’s well attended to,” said Danny Deraney, a spokesman for daughter Kerri Kasem.

On Monday, Deraney told news outlets he had no further details on the “American Top 40” star’s condition.

On Sunday, wife Jean Kasem reportedly threw a pound of raw hamburger at Kerri Kasem when she arrived with an ambulance at the house where the DJ had been staying for the past few weeks, the New York Daily News said.

“In the name of King David, I threw a piece of raw meat into the street in exchange for my husband to the wild rabid dogs,” she told NBC News.

The episode marked another twist in an ongoing dispute between Jean Kasem and her stepdaughter, who has said in legal filings her father suffers from a form of dementia. She recently won a temporary conservatorship over her dad’s medical care in California, and a Washington state judge granted her visitation last week.
