Capricious crooks bungle SoMa bike theft attempt

Cops put the brakes on these bottle-wielding bicycle crooks.

A 43-year-old man walking his bike in the SoMa neighborhood Saturday was attacked with a bottle by three cretins, police said.

The victim was attacked at Fifth and Shipley streets around 5:20 p.m. by three suspects, police said. The suspects were described as one man in his 30s, and a man and woman in their 20s.

One of the degenerates threw a bottle at the victim, causing him to drop his bike. The woman then grabbed the bike and gave it to one of her accomplices. Police soon arrived and arrested the troublesome trio.

The victim’s bike was recovered, police said.
