CAP capitalizes on southern storm deaths

This post by Brad Johnson really is a new low for the Center of American Progress: “Storms Kill Over 250 Americans In States Represented By Climate Pollution Deniers.” As sickening as the mind that believes Americans living in southern states somehow deserved this tragedy because they do not support CAP’s policies on energy taxes, Johnson’s evidence that these storms are caused by global warming is even more stunning:

“Given that global warming is unequivocal,” climate scientist Kevin Trenberth cautioned the American Meteorological Society in January of this year, “the null hypothesis should be that all weather events are affected by global warming rather than the inane statements along the lines of ‘of course we cannot attribute any particular weather event to global warming.’”

Got that? The official line at CAP now is that all weather events, all the time, everywhere, are all the direct result of global warming. I missed that section of the latest IPCC report. If CAP really wants to know why their cap and trade plan failed they need to look in the mirror.
