Canaan leading the way for No. 11 Murray State

Isaiah Canaan never doubts himself — on or off the court.

That's why the junior point guard plays at Murray State. Canaan (CAN'-on) has never second-guessed his decision despite the bigger schools that kept calling after he lead his high school team to a Mississippi state title in 2009.

Canaan says Murray State believed in him when other schools didn't. Now he's carrying the 11th-ranked Racers to heights they've never been; Murray State is the only undefeated team left in men's Division I basketball at 20-0.

Canaan is leading the team in scoring (18.7 per game). He also steps his game up on the road and has turned in a couple of game-winning performances.

Murray State hosts Eastern Illinois on Saturday.
