Can Joe Simpson Save Britney’s Career?

Manager Joe Simpson has guided his daughters Jessica and Ashlee to pop stardom. Now a source tells the New York Daily News that he’s interested in working with troubled singer Britney Spears — who recently parted ways with her manager — to get her flailing career back on track. Jessica’s rep denies that Joe sought a meeting with Brit.

Shanna posts Paris’ digits on MySpace

Sometimes Hollywood is just so high school. Reality star Shanna Moakler pulled a deliciously adolescent prank by posting Paris Hilton’s and Lindsay Lohan’s alleged phone numbers and e-mail addresses on her MySpace blog.

The "Meet the Barkers" matriarch was reportedly steamed that her own contact info was posted on the MySpace blog of Harry Morton, LiLo’s ex. Alleging that either Paris or Lindsay had hacked into his page to make the post, Shanna fumed online, "Since there are two little girls with too much time on their hands and no one to love them ... I’d like to share my ‘hacked’ info as well."

Lindsay’s rep says the contact info posted online (since removed) was not actually hers. But Paris’ long-suffering spokesman told the New York Post that the heiress was deluged with calls and had to change her number.

In a statement, the flack called Shanna’s stunt a "childish, mean-spirited thing to do," adding, "It appears to me that this woman is simply desperate for press and attention."

Yep — that’s why we love her!

Educating Katie?

Is Tom Cruise using Scientology to try to mold Katie Holmes into the perfect mother?

A new report in Us says Tom is trying to control the way Katie raises daughter Suri, 1. A source told the magazine that he instructed his bride to take Scientology "mommy classes" to improve parenting skills.

"Katie was quite offended by that," the insider reportedly relayed. "Can you imagine when you’re 28 and have your first child to be told you need to go to this church to become a better mom?"

Um, no. But then, there are a lot of things about TomKat’s life we can’t really imagine.

Shrinking Star

Star Jones Reynolds’ dramatic weight loss has been the subject of much speculation and controversy. Now the former "View" host says she’s sweated her way to her slim and trim new physique.

"I exercise. I’ve never exercised before. I play tennis. I do aerobics. I walk," Star explained to People magazine at a recent event.

And the future Court TV star says she’s overcome her gym-phobia: "I take exercise classes that kick my butt, which was not something that I was ever confident doing. Because when you’re a really overweight person, you’re not very comfortable being in a classroom environment. I think being in a classroom motivates me now."

But as with many women who have struggled with their weight, her body image hasn’t quite caught up to reality. "I never consider myself thin," Star admitted.

Dita’s Drama

Burlesque star Dita von Teese has opened up about the demise of her marriage to Marilyn Manson. The goth rocker has blamed her for his misery in their marriage. But in an interview with the U.K.’s The Daily Telegraph, von Teese speaks out to "set the record straight."

"It was difficult, because I was trying to get him help for his problems, and eventually I realized that he didn’t want help," Dita confesses. "I wasn’t supportive about his partying or his relationship with another girl, and as much as I loved him, I wasn’t going to be part of that."

That other girl would presumably be actress Evan Rachel Wood, 19, with whom Manson, 38, is now having a whirlwind affair.

"The truth is I wasn’t supportive of his lifestyle," Dita confesses, "and someone else came along who was."

But she’s philosophical about the breakup: "Millions of people have gone through this; millions of people go through it every day. I know I’m not alone. I know I’m going to be OK."

Does anyone disagree that Dita is actually better off single?
