Caltrain sees drop in ridership 

Ridership on Caltrain dropped 6.2 percent in January compared to last year, continuing a string of dwindling passenger periods that have contributed to an overall 9 percent drop this fiscal year, which ends June 30. Caltrain recorded a total of 920,103 passengers in January, more than 80,000 fewer than January 2009. Also, Caltrain vehicles recorded a 94.8 percent on-time performance, a 2.3 percent drop.
