Caltrain reports long delays after fatality on tracks 

Caltrain is experiencing residual delays due to an incident Monday morning in which a person was struck and killed by a train.

As of 8:19 a.m., Caltrain reported the following delays:

Northbound trains

No. 207: 63 minutes late at Hillsdale

No. 313: 50 minutes late at Belmont

No. 215: 45 minutes holding at San Antonio

No. 217: 35 minutes holding at Sunnyvale

No. 319: 47 minutes moving through Moutain View

No. 221: 39 minutes holding at Lawrence

No. 323: 10 minutes holding at Santa Clara

Southbound trains:

No. 206: 52 minutes late at California Avenue

No. 208: 36 minutes late through Palo Alto

No. 210: 40 minutes holding at Menlo Park

No. 312: 37 minutes holding at Menlo Park

The fatality occurred about 6:25 a.m. Monday on a northbound train north of Churchill Avenue in Palo Alto. No injuries to passengers or crew were reported.

Caltrain said it was the eighth fatality on its tracks this year. Last year, there were 10 deaths.
