Caltrain passenger found dead on board train

Peninsula train service was stalled on Caltrain for nearly 90 minutes Monday afternoon when crews discovered a deceased passenger on board a train.

An unresponsive 61-year-old male passenger was found on the #151 train headed for San Francisco around 2 p.m.

Crews noticed the passenger when they arrived at the Hillsdale Station in San Mateo, according to Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn.

The train, however, was taken out of service and not able to continue north until the coroner arrived on scene.

Passengers aboard #151 were transferred to #155 at 3 p.m.

Other midday trains singled-tracked around the area until the north track was reopened around 3:25 p.m.
