Caltrain experiencing mechanical problems, delays — again

Caltrain riders were facing delays longer than 20 minutes during the Friday morning commute after the fourth train in two days broke down at a station, a transit spokeswoman said.

A northbound express train had mechanical problems at the Sunnydale station around 6:15 a.m. Friday, spokeswoman Christine Dunn said.

During Thursday’s morning commute, the breakdowns of southbound trains at the Belmont, San Carlos and San Mateo stations at varying times caused severe delays in both directions, some up to an hour. However, there were no problems with the evening commute, Dunn said.
