“The Butler” killed it at the box office this weekend, but some audiences are crying foul. According to yhe Huffington Post, there was a heavy police presence at a Maryland showing of the film that left many people offended. Tickets were reportedly checked twice by security and patrons were directed to their seats by cops. “The almost entirely black audience of ‘The Butler’ was subjected to watching the film while armed guards faced the audience,” tweeted one moviegoer. Regal Entertainment’s reaction has been less than satisfactory as well, saying that they usually do such things during sold-out shows. OK kiddies, prepare for your pat-down before Pixar’s “Planes.”
