Business briefs: Shaklee offsets CO2 emissions 

Shaklee Corp., a privately held Pleasanton nutritional-supplements company that has long supported "green" business practices, said Friday that it has become the first consumer-products firm to offset 100 percent of its United States carbon dioxide emissions through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Climate Leaders program.

Berkeley, Stanford face off in redevelopment contest

Graduate students at Stanford and UC Berkeley will spar over who can present a better plan to redevelop the Solano County fairgrounds. A contest luncheon will take place May 2 at the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco, with the winner earning a $2,000 check to a charity.
