Business briefs: One South Van Ness sold 

San Francisco development company TMG Partners has sold a 450,000- square-foot office building at One South Van Ness to the city and county of San Francisco for $71.5 million. Originally built as a data-processing center for Bank of America, the building is currently leased by The City, California Pacific Medical Center and the California State Compensation Insurance Fund.

The former Hollinger International Inc. CEO’s defense attorney made a final appeal to jurors in closing arguments in Chicago on Wednesday, urging them to understand that the fallen media magnate "is a little bit of a stubborn man but an innocent man." Black is accused, along with other executives, of swindling the media company out of more than $60 million.
