Business briefs: Delta Air Lines is back 

Emerging from 19 months of bankruptcy protection, Delta Air Lines Inc. is back. Emboldened with a restructured balance sheet and a new look, Delta is expected to announce this week that it will increase the number of flights out of Los Angeles International by 50 percent from 62 departures a day to 99, making the airport one of the busiest for the Atlanta-based carrier.

SCOTT HAUGE

San Francisco’s Scott Hauge was awarded the National Small Business Association’s 2007 Small Business Advocate of the Year award at an event in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday. Hauge, president and owner of Cal Insurance and Associates Inc., founded Small Business California, an influential advocacy group and serves as the NSBA’s vice chair for advocacy.
