Business briefs: 3M cuts prices 

3M, the maker of Scotch tape and Post-it Notes, gave in to competitive pressure and said it would cut prices on its profitable films for LCD television screens. The news sent 3M Co. (MMM) shares down more than 8 percent. 3M has invested heavily in new plants to make the LCD films, which once carried profit margins around 30 percent.

Cammie Dunaway

Yahoo Inc.’s (YHOO) chief marketing officer is leaving the company in two weeks, joining a management exodus that has unfolded as the Internet icon struggles to snap out of a financial funk. The company didn’t give a reason for Dunaway’s departure in a statement. Dunaway, who joined Yahoo in 2003, had been the company’s head of customer experience as well as chief marketing officer.
