Burlingame man accused of stalking wrestlers

A 29-year-old Burlingame man, recently banned from a Hayward professional wrestling club, was charged with stalking six professional wrestlers, five of whom were from the Bay Area.

Marlon Pagtakham was charged Tuesday with 17 felony counts of stalking five local wrestlers and one wrestler from Illinois, who, according to prosecutors, he sought romantically.

Burlingame police had conducted an investigation this summer following complaints from the victims that Pagtakham was constantly e-mailing, text-messaging and calling them. The alleged stalking activity occurred after the suspect was banned from a Hayward wrestling club in early 2007.

On Saturday, he was arrested outside the Hayward club after he parked his car, took out boxing gloves and yelled at the building, seeking a fight, said Deputy District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.

Pagtakham has a previous stalking conviction from 2001 in Los Angeles, where he followed actress Jeri Ryan, of television shows such as "Star Trek Voyager," "The OC" and "Boston Public." Pagtakham pleaded not guilty Tuesday and is in custody on $800,000 bail.
