A burglary suspect was shot and seriously wounded after breaking into a Foster City home early Sunday, police said.

A resident in the 600 block of Crane Avenue called cops around 4:20 a.m. saying someone was trying to break into the home. Cops who arrived at the scene said they heard gunshots from inside the home. Upon entering, they found a 24-year-old San Mateo man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, police said.
