Burglar steals pair of woman's underwear

A pair of underwear was all that was taken when a woman's apartment was burglarized in Belmont over the weekend, according to police.

About 4:10 a.m. Saturday, a 22-year-old woman arrived home to her apartment and discovered a burglar inside, according to Belmont police.

The suspect ran past the victim and fled out the front door, police said. During a search of the area, police found a pair of women's underwear a short distance from the victim's apartment.

The underwear appeared to have been dropped by the suspect as he fled, police said. No other property was taken.

The intruder was described as a white man approximately 5-foot-9 tall with a medium build and short brown hair that was slightly longer on the top than the sides. He was wearing a blue short-sleeve T-shirt with a V-neck and blue jeans.
