Bruisers book it with bike

A 24-year-old man was assaulted and robbed of his bicycle Monday at the intersection of Sixth and Natoma streets in South of Market, police said.

The victim told police he had been walking his bicycle about 6:30 p.m. when one of two thugs blocked his path. The other suspect came up from behind and tried to swipe the man’s wallet from his back pocket, police said. The victim fought back and held on to his wallet, but was punched in the face multiple times and had his bicycle stolen.

He suffered minor injuries and no arrests have been made, police said.
