Britney’s loved ones cross their fingers

After a promising start at Promises, Britney Spears has reportedly hit a rough patch in rehab. According to Us Weekly, the troubled pop star’s family is concerned about how her recovery is coming along.

"They hope that Britney will stay at Promises for a month, but they’re nervous she might not last that long," a source told the magazine’s Web site.

A bizarre British tabloid report even alleges that while in treatment, Britney wrote "666" on her shaved head and shouted that she was the Antichrist, then made a suicide attempt. A source reportedly told the News of the World: "She attached a sheet to a light and tied it around her neck. Paramedics were called, but luckily she was unhurt."

Let’s hope these tabloid rumors are just that. As long as Britney voluntarily remains in rehab, she’s moving in the right direction.

G-Rated K-Fed

Meanwhile, could Kevin Federline be considering another try with Britney? The former self-styled playboy reportedly took it down several notches when he hit the Vegas scene Saturday for a flirt-free evening at nightclub Revolution.

"He really just hung out with his immediate group of friends all night, though there were plenty of girls trying to get into the VIP area to meet him," a source at the club told Star’s Web site. "The only girls around him were girls he brought, but they all said they worked for him somehow."

The erstwhile mack daddy behaved like a changed man, says the source: "Later on in the night a girl in a gray dress talked to Kevin for a long time but there was no flirting."

Has Britney’s recent crisis inspired Kevin to tone down his own partying? Or might he be minding his manners in hopes of a post-rehab reconciliation? Stay tuned.

Tori’s Big Month

(Photo by Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images) Tori Spelling and husband Dean McDermott are counting the days until the arrival of their new son.

Tori Spelling is no slacker. Nine months pregnant with her first child, the former "90210" star worked hands-on to put the finishing touches on her new bed-and-breakfast with husband Dean McDermott.

Saturday, the happy couple hosted the grand opening of Chateau La Rue in Fallbrook. Their work opening and running the guest house is being chronicled in the reality show "Tori and Dean: Inn Love," which debuts this month.

On opening day, Tori told People, "Dean was painting doors until 2 p.m. Only hours before the gala, all the furniture was gathered in the middle of the rooms and not set out. It was sheer madness. It came down to the wire, but we pulled it off."

Tori and Dean’s next collaboration, a son, is also set to debut later this month.

"I’m so excited to meet my little man so soon," Tori gushed to People. "I’m over the moon with anticipation of his arrival. I’m counting down the days!"

Rosie: Riled Up

(Photo by Amy Sussman/Getty Images) Play nice, girls. Elisabeth Hassselbeck and Rosie O'Donnell have been at odds lately.

Opinionated "View" co-host Rosie O’Donnell is notorious for getting into hot water with her no-holds-barred on-air blabbing. Now the comedian has become embroiled in beef with her own castmate. Rosie apologized to fellow "View" panelist Elisabeth Hasselbeck on her blog, after calling her "very young and … very wrong" during a political debate on the show Wednesday.

A repentant Rosie wrote in her signature blank-verse blog style, "i said some of elisabeths comments were ignorant / which was ignorant itself," and reminded herself to "try to teach not scold."

Still, the New York Post says Elisabeth is so fed up with Rosie’s abrasive remarks, she’s ready to leave the long-running chat show. "Elisabeth just can’t take it any more," a source told the paper. "Her days there are numbered."

But in her online message, Rosie insisted that everything is, well, rosy: "i love Elisabeth/ i hurt her feelings / i feel badly / she has forgiven me / i have not myself."

Is there anyone left in Hollywood Rosie hasn’t clashed with? At this rate, we half expect a feud with Dakota Fanning.
