Bright Bulb: High gas prices fuel electric bike sales 

High gasoline prices have an upside for dealers of electric bikes.

Sales for the once exotic means of transportation have taken off as Americans hunt for ways to get to work without breaking the bank-and preferably without breaking a sweat.

At prices ranging from a few hundred dollars to more than $2,500, the battery-powered bikes are still cheaper than a car and don’t require a motorcycle license.
